A Rich History of Music Making

Marlboro Music occasionally issues publications and recordings to share the wonderful music making that occurs in Vermont each summer. These items are a wonderful way to get to know more about Marlboro, or to evoke memories of especially meaningful performances from the past.

German Vocal Texts in Translations: An Anthology with translations by Philipp O. Naegele contains for reference and use translations into English of all German poetic texts whose musical settings have been heard in Marlboro Festival concerts, master classes, and tour programs between 1953 and 2004. Complete Marlboro Programs

Collected Marlboro Programs (1951-2000) were published in a three-volume set (also on CD-ROM) which include indices for all the works performed, with timings for many of them—a wonderful new chamber music resource for libraries, schools, scholars, musicians and music-lovers.

Espressivo: Music and Life at Marlboro Music is a 144-page volume with over 200 historic photographers, commentary from participating musicians, and excerpts of articles from major periodicals. It is a unique and compelling look at this idealistic community, and at some of the central artistic figures from Marlboro’s past.
