Auditions & Applications

Thank you for your interest in Marlboro Music. Auditions are held only as we have vacancies for a particular instrument, and are now being planned for violin, viola, and bassoon.

We would encourage all other musicians to call or write Jen Loux at jloux@marlboromusic.org or 215-569-4690 for the latest audition information pertaining to their instrument or voice type.

If you are interested in auditioning for a future season and you are a pianist, please see the guidelines below.

 

VIOLIN and VIOLA

Violin and Viola auditions are to be held at Lincoln Center in New York. Violas will be heard on Thursday, January 3rd, and Violins on January 4th and 5th, 2013.

To apply, please submit a completed application form together with a CD recording (audio CD only please, no DVDs or sound files). Preliminary recordings should include at least two contrasting works from the solo repertoire (accompanied or unaccompanied works are fine).

All materials must be received by Thursday, November 15, 2012 and should be sent to:

BASSOON

Bassoon auditions are being planned for Wednesday, January 2nd, 2013, at the Rose Studio, Lincoln Center, in New York. If you would like to audition, please send a completed application form to jloux@marlboromusic.org, and we will be in touch with more information.

 

PIANO

Piano applications are accepted on a rolling basis. In addition to the Application form, please send a preliminary recording to:

The CD should include at least:

  • One work by Haydn or Mozart
  • One work by Beethoven, Schubert, or Schumann
