Auditions & Applications

Musicians are invited to Marlboro Music on the basis of auditions, which generally take place in December and January in New York City. Auditions are scheduled only as we have vacancies for particular instruments or voice types.

Auditions for our 2015 season (June 28 – August 16) are planned for the following: violin, double bass, horn, and voice.

VIOLIN

Violin auditions will be held on January 5 and 6 at the Rose Studio, Lincoln Center, in New York. To be considered for an audition, you must submit an application form and an audio CD recording containing at least 2 contrasting solo works (accompanied or unaccompanied solo works are preferred over chamber music for this preliminary recording).

All materials should be received no later than Friday, November 21, 2014, and should be sent to:

Marlboro Music Admissions
1528 Walnut Street, Suite 301
Philadelphia, PA 19102

Applicants will be notified as to the results of the CD screening by the first week of December. Repertoire for the audition will be announced at that time.

DOUBLE BASS

Double Bass auditions will be heard in Field Hall at the Curtis Institute of Music (18th and Locust Streets in Philadelphia) on Saturday, November 22nd, 2014. Interested applicants should email an application form to jloux@marlboromusic.org. Applications should be received by Friday, October 24th (though exceptions for late applications may be granted, depending on space in our schedule).

HORN

Horn auditions are planned for Sunday, January 4th at the Rose Studio, Lincoln Center, in New York. Interested applicants should email an application form to jloux@marlboromusic.org. Applications should be received by Friday, November 28th (though exceptions for late applications may be granted, depending on space in our schedule).

VOICE

Voice auditions will be held on Monday evening, December 15th at the Juilliard School in New York. Applicants are invited to audition on the basis of recordings. To apply, please submit mp3 audio files with a combination of art songs and arias (2-4 pieces would be sufficient) along with a completed application form to jloux@marlboromusic.org. (An audio CD may also be sent to Marlboro Music Admissions, 1528 Walnut Street, Suite 301, Philadelphia, PA 19102).

1528 Walnut Street, Suite 301
Philadelphia, PA 19102

The CD should include at least:
