Marlboro Music Admissions

Philadelphia, PA 19103

Preliminary Recordings are also required for all string and piano applicants. Please see notes below for specific requirements.

STRING AUDITIONS

While we are no longer able to accept applications for 2010 auditions, string players interested in applying for a future audition should submit a completed application form and a CD recording. (Please be sure to send a standard audio CD. We regret that we cannot accept DVDs or CD ROM recordings).

The CD should include at least two pieces in contrasting styles. We recommend including solo works (accompanied by piano, orchestra, or unaccompanied) rather than chamber music, on this preliminary recording.

PIANO

Piano applications are accepted on a rolling basis. In addition to the application form, please send a preliminary recording to the above address. The CD should include at least:

  • One work by Haydn or Mozart
  • One work by Beethoven, Schubert, or Schumann
