Marlboro Music - Richard Goode & Mitsuko Uchida, Artistic Directors

Applications and Auditions

Thank you for your interest in Marlboro Music. Auditions are held only as vacancies appear in our roster. This winter, we anticipate holding auditions for Viola and Cello. Please see the information posted below, and feel free to contact Jen Loux at jloux@marlboromusic.org or 215-569-4690 if you have questions.

String Auditions (viola and cello in 2012)

Viola auditions will be held on Thursday, January 5th, and Cello auditions on Friday and Saturday, January 6th and 7th, at the Rose Studio, Lincoln Center, in New York City.

To apply, please send in a completed application form as well as a recording of your playing (audio CD only, please). While there are no strict requirements for the CD, we would ask that it include solo (concertos, sonatas, accompanied or unaccompanied) works rather than chamber music. We’d also recommend including at least 2 contrasting works (or movements of works).

The application and recording should arrive by November 18, 2011, and materials can be sent to:

Marlboro Music Admissions
1616 Walnut Street, Suite 1600
Philadelphia, PA 19103

PIANO

Piano applications are accepted on a rolling basis. In addition to the application form, please send a preliminary recording to:

Marlboro Music Admissions
1616 Walnut Street, Suite 1600
Philadelphia, PA 19103

The CD should include at least:

  • One work by Haydn or Mozart
  • One work by Beethoven, Schubert, or Schumann

If you have questions about the application process, please do not hesitate to contact Jen Loux (jloux@marlboromusic.org; 215-569-4690).

Thank you for your interest in Marlboro.
