After an incredibly successful East Coast tour, one reviewer wrote that “these young Marlboro players…reminded their audience of the almost explosive joy that musicians take in sharing their exploration of chamber music…Each was a soloist; each was a thoughtful partner to the others. Together, they were exultant.” Thomas Adès’ Arcadiana is the centerpiece of a memorable program that also features piano trios by Haydn and Fauré as well as Brahms’s String Quintet in G Major, Op. 111.
Tour Group Three: March 19–26, 2017
The final program of the season begins with Haydn’s String Quartet in G Minor, Op. 74, No. 3, Rider, followed by Webern’s String Quartet and Brahms’s luxuriantly beautiful Piano Quartet in A Major, Op. 26.
