Enhancing Vermont’s Creative Economy

We are proud to share the Marlboro campus with organizations that are committed to our values of creative exploration, artistic discovery, dynamic education, community, and cultural and environment stewardship.

Meet some of the organizations making their homes on campus in order to better fulfill their missions, enhance opportunities, and build community.

  • American Harp Institute. Offering harpists an intensive training experience on campus with Yolanda Kondonassis, one of the world’s premier solo harpists.
  • Boston States Fiddle Camp. Providing the world’s best instruction in Scottish and Cape Breton traditional music, with classes in fiddle, piano, guitar, step dance, Gaelic song, and more.
  • Brattleboro Food Coop. Providing catering for programs held on campus. Their healthy, organic, and locally sourced menu makes the campus an even more desirable location for hosting groups and events.
  • Contemplative Semester. Launched on campus in 2024, the Contemplative Semester is a 4-month transformative educational experience that offers young people a deep dive into mindfulness meditation and community.
  • Decoda. Carnegie Hall’s affiliate chamber music ensemble, hosts its annual winter retreat on campus for amateur musicians with a serious commitment to chamber music.
  • Feldenkrais First. An annual retreat featuring workshops and Awareness through Movement sessions for students and professionals.
  • The Flaherty. Celebrating over seven decades of cinema and community and returning home to Vermont for its 71st Seminar.
  • The Folk Arts Center of New England’s international dance and music camp.
  • Marlboro Morris Ale. Every year since 1976, Morris dancers from all over North America have gathered on campus to dance, make music, and celebrate the arrival of spring and coming of summer.
  • Marlboro Nordic Ski Club. From its base on campus, the Club promotes lifelong participation in the sport of cross country skiing and grooms and maintains the extensive campus trail system.
  • Marlboro Studio School. Based in the Visual Arts Center, the Studio School launched its arts programming on campus in spring 2023, offering community classes, multi-day workshops, artist residencies, and more.
  • Mountains & Music. Bringing together participants of all ages who share a love of classical music and the outdoors for chamber music retreats.
  • RiverJam Romp. Celebrating the ever-evolving tradition of community music in southern Vermont with traditional fiddling, picking, singing, jamming, social dancing, and the shared joys of our regional music scene.
  • Works & Process. Championing creative process from studio to stage, Works & Process offers exceptional artists fully funded creative residencies on campus through its LaunchPAD “Process as Destination” program.
