Marlboro at 75
Honoring a Legacy. Investing in the Future.
The 75th Anniversary Campaign is a commitment to Marlboro’s future—to sustain our devotion to music, to care for the place that makes our work possible, and to nurture and build the community that gives it meaning. Your support ensure that Marlboro will not only endure—it will flourish for generations to come.
As Marlboro looks toward its next 75 years, we seek philanthropic partners who share our belief in depth, collaboration, and artistic integrity. Campaign investments secure what Marlboro already does at the highest level—strengthening the artistic program, preserving the campus, and sustaining the people who bring its ideals to life.

Our Vision for the Next 75 Years
Serving Music & Musicians
Over the next decade, Marlboro will:
- Expand artistic and educational opportunities through special collaborations, invited artists, campus residencies, and Musicians from Marlboro tours that share discoveries with audiences both near and far.
- Preserve and strengthen its residential model by ensuring all musicians and their families are fully supported without the distraction of daily pressures.
- Nurture the next generation of artistic leaders through mentorship, advanced training, and retreat opportunities that foster excellence, insights, and perspective.

Fostering a Sense of Place
Nestled on 560 acres in southern Vermont, Marlboro’s campus is an essential partner in the creative process. Looking ahead, we will:
- Steward and preserve its land and historic buildings, caring for the woods, trails, gardens, and gathering places that define the campus.
- Renew and upgrade facilities and infrastructure to ensure accessibility, sustainability, efficiency, and comfort for current and future generations.
- Activate the campus year-round with artistic residencies and mission-aligned programs specifically connected to the arts, education and the environment and extend Marlboro’s collaborative spirit, while protecting the integrity of the summer season.
Cultivating Community
Marlboro’s essence is its people—and the values that bind them. In an era of polarization, Marlboro models attentive listening, humility, and collaboration across difference. Looking ahead, we will:
- Share broadly how the values of chamber music—listening, humility, collaboration—apply far beyond the arts.
- Remain welcoming and accessible, including through open rehearsals that allow visitors to witness diverse artistic perspectives.
- Ensure that financial need is never a barrier, so that the most talented young musicians can contribute their voices and benefit from the wisdom of others.
- Promote tolerance and understanding. They are the foundation of creative and democratic life.
