Attending Open Rehearsals
Pianist and former Co-Artistic Director Richard Goode once said that Marlboro “is a place where people get together in order to immerse themselves in what they love and to rediscover the reasons why they love it.”
At the heart of the summer program is a focus on rehearsals, some of which are shared with the public in Persons Auditorium. Audiences can gain first hand insights into the artistic process, literally watching the music being made, observing how the musicians work within an ensemble and how they prepare a piece for performance.
Rehearsal schedules are posted to this page at the beginning of each week (on Sunday or Monday) throughout the summer and include works that will be performed on the following weekend’s concerts. Admission is free, and no tickets or advance reservations are required.
An example rehearsal schedule from a previous season is included here for reference. Rehearsal schedules are subject to change, so please feel free to contact our reception desk (802-254-2394) to confirm the day’s schedule before you visit.
