Bringing the intimacy and vitality of Marlboro’s summer program to the national stage
For six decades, Musicians from Marlboro tours have offered audiences throughout North America and beyond a glimpse into the magic that happens each summer in Vermont. Each Marlboro tour program is curated by Co-Artistic Directors Mitsuko Uchida and Jonathan Biss from among the most exceptional collaborations from previous summers. Unlike typical touring ensembles, these groups are formed through Marlboro’s unique intergenerational approach, pairing world-renowned mentors with exceptional younger professionals. The results offer audiences the chance to discover seldom-heard masterworks and enjoy fresh, spirited interpretations of chamber music favorites, all born from weeks of immersive rehearsal and shared musical life at Marlboro.
Since its inception in 1965, the touring program has served as a vital springboard for many of today’s most distinguished solo and chamber music artists. The list includes Jonathan Biss, Yefim Bronfman, Jennifer Koh, Hilary Hahn, Jeremy Denk, Richard Goode, Leila Josefowicz, Murray Perahia, Sir András Schiff, and Peter Serkin, among others. It has also been a platform for artists who subsequently formed or joined such noted ensembles as the Beaux Arts, Eroica, and Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trios, and Brentano, Emerson, Guarneri, Juilliard, Orion, St. Lawrence, and Tokyo String Quartets.
Musicians from Marlboro currently presents annual concert series in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Greenwich (CT), Brattleboro (VT), and Washington, D.C., with additional performances throughout the U.S. and Canada.

“What, exactly, are they putting in the water at the Marlboro Music Festival? Not only is the virtuosity of ‘Musicians from Marlboro’….consistently jaw-dropping, but the freshness, rich imagination and sheer vitality of their playing is enough to make even the most jaded concertgoer edge to the front of his seat.”
