A Year-Round Home for Culture, Creativity, & Community
Marlboro Music’s campus—560 acres nestled in the hills of rural southern Vermont—is much more than a backdrop. It has been Marlboro’s home for all 75 of its years, the place where some of the greatest musical artists of the past century lived each summer and forged a lasting legacy.
Beyond rehearsal studios, creative and convening spaces, and a host of residential options, the campus offers miles of open fields, trails, streams, and forests, and a sense of seclusion and community that has always been fundamental to the Marlboro experience. Well suited to programs in music, the arts, education, and the environment, its quiet, campus-wide gathering spaces encourage focus and connection with the natural world.
From September through May, Marlboro’s campus is available to organizations that share an appreciation for this kind of setting and that align with our mission. If you are connected to a group that might benefit from a place like this—whether for residencies, retreats, educational programs, or a longer-term home—we invite you to reach out.
“Historic, beautiful, modern, and inspiring all at once.”
Together with our partner organizations, we are creating a vibrant place where, throughout the year, musicians, artists, teachers, scholars, students, and others can come to think, work, learn, collaborate, perform, create, be inspired by nature, and make meaningful contributions to our town, our region, and the world.
The American Harp Institute is one of 35 programs in the arts, education, and environment that has found a home on our Vermont campus. “I am blown away by the facilities and the vision of the campus as a setting for meaningful artistic work,” says AHI founder Yolanda Kondonassis. “When my students depart, they use words like ‘unforgettable,’ ‘amazing,’ and ‘like nothing I ever experienced’ to describe their stay.”

A Place Where Visions are Realized
The Campus at Marlboro Music is located in the southern Vermont town of Marlboro, settled in 1763, just off of scenic Molly Stark Trail on Vermont Route 9. It is conveniently located 20 minutes west of Brattleboro, Vermont. Hartford’s Bradley Airport is about 90 minutes away, and Boston’s Logan Airport is 2.5 hours by car. There is also daily train service to Brattleboro from east coast cities.
We delight in hosting activities and collaborating with partners who help us serve our nonprofit mission of advancing music, art, learning, and community engagement. It’s been wonderful to see campus partners share our love of the natural environment and enjoy the facilities that are so conducive to deep inquiry, creative expression, and artistic inspiration.
If you are involved with a mission-aligned organization seeking a retreat environment for residencies or workshops, or if you’re looking to relocate or expand your program, we invite you to contact us to discuss possible collaborations and cost-sharing.
