Carl Garbie is a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design, where he studied Interior Design with a focus on architecture and historic preservation. His deep interest in residential and hospitality design has shaped his career. In Savannah, he served as the Visual Display Manager for a Hamptons-based retailer, gaining valuable experience in residential design and event management.

After relocating to focus on high-end retail visual merchandising in New York City, Carl furthered his education in Culinary Arts and Management at the Institute of Culinary Education NYC. Much of his work and consulting in this area celebrates living well through food, travel, and thoughtful design. He completed an apprenticeship at the Michelin-starred restaurant Agern, and the following summer, enjoyed a favorite role as Kitchen and Hospitality Manager at a charming B&B in France’s Loire Valley, where he explored the region, visited brocantes and farmers’ markets, and, whenever possible, took trips to Paris.

More recently, Carl worked for the New York-based restaurant group Ark, providing administrative support and assisting their special events team. In the summer of 2023, he discovered Marlboro and was captivated by its mission and setting. Later that year, he served as Stage Manager for the Sinfónica de Minería orchestra on their first North American tour before joining Marlboro as Festival Coordinator in 2024.

Outside of work, Carl enjoys spending time at home with his partner—homemaking, gardening, traveling, and entertaining friends and family—reflecting his belief in the joy of living well.
