Marlboro Music’s 2017 Season will take place from June 25 to August 13 on the campus of Marlboro College in Marlboro, Vermont. Auditions will be held for violin and voice.

Piano applications are accepted on a rolling basis (please see below for more information).

Violinists will be heard on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 3rd and 4th, at the Rose Studio (10th floor of the Rose Building at Lincoln Center in New York City).

Interested applicants should send a CD recording including at least two solo works or substantial movements (from the accompanied or unaccompanied repertoire), along with a completed application form to:

Marlboro Music Admissions
1528 Walnut Street, Suite 301
Philadelphia, PA 19102

All applications from string players must be received no later than Friday, November 18, 2016.

Vocal auditions will be held the evening of Saturday, December 3rd at a location to be announced in New York City. At this time, we expect vacancies for Soprano and Tenor, but would welcome inquiries from Mezzos and Bass-Baritones as well. Interested applicants should contact Jennifer Loux at [email protected] or 215-569-4690, for more information.

Pianists are invited to audition for our committee on the basis of a preliminary recording, and auditions are generally held in January in New York City. Because piano auditions are often held a year-and-a-half in advance (i.e. January 2016 audition for 2017 Summer Season) pianists are encouraged to send their materials as soon as they are available.

To apply, please submit an application form and recording (see guidelines below) to:

Marlboro Music Admissions
1528 Walnut Street, Suite 301
Philadelphia, PA 19102

The CD should include at least:

  • One work by Haydn or Mozart
  • One work by Beethoven, Schubert, or Schumann

If you have questions about the application process, please do not hesitate to contact Jennifer Loux ([email protected]; 215-569-4690).
